The availability of Darger’s writings in digital form at Intuit will be a fantastic resource. The writings are fascinating and varied, and we spent many months with the microfilms. ‘Realms of the Unreal’ alone is considered the longest work of fiction ever written, but there are many other writings besides ‘Realms’ which offer a route into his work and a sense of Darger’s voice.

We did it! Thanks to your donations, the public will be able to access Henry Darger’s epic novel!

With the $2,475 raised through Intuit’s campaign, the museum is sending its 25 rolls of In the Realms of the Unreal microfilm to a commercial conversion lab to be digitized. The digital copies of the manuscript will be available for onsite study and by appointment (more info to come soon). Thank you!
