Henry Darger in Liège, Belgium

There’s a fascinating Darger event taking place at the Trinkhall Museum from April 24-26, 2024 at Trinkhall Museum in Liège, Belgium, featuring Xavier Mauméjean author of the biography ‘Henry Darger: Dans Les Royaumes de L’Irréel’, and translator Anne-Sylvie Homassel (who translated our documentary ‘Revolutions of the Night: The Enigma of Henry Darger’).

Mauméjean’s biography – so far only available in French – is essential reading and showed Darger’s work – and life – in a new light.

It helps free Henry Darger from the clichéd image that has dogged him from Day One. An English-language edition would be so valuable. This Darger event promises to drive forward debate around this remarkable writer-artist.

There’s an excellent introduction to the event by Mauméjean, ‘Henry Darger, arpenteur du réel
Esquisse psychogéographique’, here:
